We grind standard residential stumps 6 to 12 inches beneath the sod line, ensuring ample soil depth for grass seed, sod, or shallow flowerbeds to root cleanly.
Because the deep subterranean root system remains beneath the 12-inch ground zone, we recommend planting a new tree at least 4 to 6 feet away from the old stump location. For replanting in the identical spot, full stump removal is the better choice, because it extracts the root ball and leaves clean soil for the new tree to establish in.
